The Lowry arts centre which appears on the opposite side of the Manchester Ship Canal, was the venue for my first significant solo exhibition in 2000. Now with the arrival of the Imperial War Museum, bars, shopping centre, cinemas and Media City, it has become a thriving cultural hub in the formerly desolate docklands of Manchester’s twin city.
